5G for all, VMware, SD Wan, security: the latest technological developments definitely benefit companies that want to innovate. Nevertheless, accurate and proactive monitoring of your network and your applications remains the order of the day. Interview with Marc Foulon, monitoring and network analysis guru.
5G for ultra-fast performance
When 5G is available throughout Belgium (both for businesses and individuals), response times should be greatly improved. “If the transmission system is more powerful, servers and databases must be able to keep up. Consequently, ultra-efficient transmission in the chain isn’t enough for an instantaneous response,” Marc Foulon notes.
Uncompromising monitoring
High speeds, improved latency, fully connected environments: just some of the main advantages of the new generation mobile network. However, monitoring services will continue to be important. “Organisations’ private networks and new cloud infrastructure will always be vulnerable. Accurate and proactive monitoring remains the order of the day, now more than ever,” warns the CEO of NET-measure.
VMware for easier infrastructure management
Virtualisation is emerging as a key trend. It makes it easy to manage dozens, hundreds or even thousands of servers from a centralised administrative interface and also provides better control over the IT infrastructure.
“Virtualisation makes it possible to considerably reduce the number of physical servers, not to mention their energy consumption,” Marc Foulon explains. NET-measure is already ahead of the game in this area. Monitoring is tailored to VMware, which requires intervention other than in an individual server environment. “Thanks to its close working relationship with NETSCOUT, NET-measure provides appropriate and state-of-the-art interfaces,” Marc Foulon explains happily, as someone who is always on the lookout for new solutions.
SD Wan: budget-friendly performance and intelligence
In Marc Foulon’s view, the hype around SD Wan (or Software-Defined Wide Area Network) is justified. This state-of-the-art technology integrates perfectly with existing networks. “Physically, the company is connected to the operator and determines the necessary capacity itself. In practice, you can create or upgrade your network by integrating almost any technology. And the simplicity of the roll-out process is astonishing,” the Founding partner of NET-measure says.
Monitoring and security
When performing session analysis within a network, it makes sense to check the security of each packet. This provides an impact check for all services and for all users. “By using AI algorithms, we can detect intrusions more quickly. The result? Stability for your business,” Marc Foulon concludes.
